New Kids’ “I Like The (Remix)” is catchy, infectious and most importantly, current. It doesn’t feel like the guys are trying to appeal to an audience much younger than them, they are appealing to their original fans who loved them years ago – but with a new and fresh sound perfect for today’s radio.
The Sugar ‘n Spice VoxBox is filled with a variety of really useful products, both beauty and “health” related. I am excited to make use out (nearly) of everything that was included. Here’s what I got…
This week’s Music Monday takes a turn for the DANCE. I first heard this song in a commercial for Adidas (ever notice how they utilize some amazing music in their commercials?!) and I immediately started dancing to it. While sitting down. I couldn’t help myself. By the time I saw the commercial come around for the second time, I couldn’t get out my phone fast enough to Shazam it.
I was bad last week and didn’t post a Music Monday. Didn’t have much to share in terms of music, I suppose. But I stumbled upon this track last Friday, and I immediately knew what my next Music Monday post would be about.
With the success of the film ‘Pitch Perfect’ - rumor has it that Universal is releasing a new radio version of the fan favorite ‘Cups’ by Anna Kendrick to radio stations. This new edit has a sound very similar to Phillip Phillip’s ‘Home’ or some of The Lumineer’s music. It’s still catchy as ever and will probably find even more success now that it has a proper radio edit.
As some of you may already know, the ever-hilarious Justin Timberlake will be hosting this week’s episode of Saturday Night Live, his 5th time and hosting and (at least) 12th time appearing on the show. Here are some of my favorite SNL skits of Justin’s from over the years.
I’ve been a fan of Muse ever since my friend Megan dragged me to a show when I was living on campus at Kent State University. I’d actually never even heard of them before, but she swore the show was amazing and worth me seeing, even if I’d never heard a single song of theirs before. Was she ever right.
I can always count on my friends to recommend some great music. This weekend when meeting up with my BFF Nicole for lunch, she gave me a disc from the new-to-me-artist ZZ Ward. I was immediately impressed with the entire album, and knew it would be a great fit for an upcoming Music Monday post!
The following commercials are all culprits of major brain-stealing time in my life. I’ve been known to sing, hum or whistle these songs for days (even weeks) on end, even if I hate ‘em. Which for the record, I do. All of them.
I decided to start a “Music Monday” post theme here on LifeAficionada, in which I plan on sharing with you new and interesting music that I well… feel like sharing, really. Some will be good. Some may be bad. But they will all be songs you can find on my iPod.
While Ry and I were jamming out in my car the other day to the Pitch Perfectsoundtrack (yes, really), it occured to me that this was not the first time in my life that I was bass-ing out to a musical like the awesomely cool person that I am.
When I actually stopped to think about it, there have been musicals throughout my life that have influenced me greatly, and nearly all of my favorite movies are actually musicals! I had no idea I was that artistically well rounded.
Just for the sake of sharing some good memories, here is a list of some of my favorite musicals/musical films (in chronological order of when they influenced my life)…
